PHILIPSBURG, Sint Maarten — The Minister of Public Health, Social Development and Labour (VSA), Richard Panneflek hereby informs the public that Collective Prevention Services (CPS)
will be opening the drive through testing in Point Blanche at the lot before the harbor for all individuals daily, as of today Monday, January 11. Free testing will be done during the morning hours from 9:30am- 11:30am. The drive through will be open daily from Monday to Friday for anyone who comes forward for testing until supplies are finished. Any weekend testing will remain by appointment only. This is a shift in the process as currently the drive through was by appointment only.
CPS will still maintain their appointments from the hours of8:00am – 9:30am daily, however anyone who wants to be tested can now do so. CPS requests that persons who wish to come to the drive through for free testing, do not come before 9:30am as this will create gridlock in the parking lot as persons who have appointments will be exiting at that time. The duration of the drive through testing will remain in place until CPS or the Ministry of Public Health deems otherwise. The drive through is not meant for travel. Persons requesting travel PCR need to do so by contacting SLS or HCLS labs.
Minister Panneflek encourages persons who are experiencing signs and symptoms which may be related to COVID-19, and persons who have been in close contact with a confirmed case to come out and make use of this opportunity to get tested. The service is free to all members of the community.
