TRINIDAD—WITH eight murders in the police’s Western Division in a week, residents in parts of West Trinidad are considering a self-imposed curfew to escape the violence.
Investigators are saying the killings are linked to ongoing gang warfare which was re-ignited by a double homicide in an area known as Coco Jah in Petit Valley last Thursday.
When the Express visited Freedom Street and Waterhole Road in Cocorite yesterday, some residents said recent killings had left them shaken.
The latest incident, which occurred yesterday morning, saw Damian Maingot, 38, and Dwayne Manzano, 36, shot dead in their apartment building.
