An increase of moisture, instability and winds are expected as Tropical Storm Beryl approaches the region. Consequently, increasing cloudiness and showers can be expected with windy conditions across the local area.
Marine conditions are currently deteriorating and rough seas are expected from today through Tuesday. A small craft advisory will be in effect from 8am this morning. Small craft operators and sea bathers should exercise caution.

At 11pm, tropical storm Beryl was located near latitude 14.4 North, longitude 57.9 West or about 424 miles southeast of St. Maarten. Beryl continues to move toward the west northwest near 23 mph. Maximum sustained winds remain near 45 mph with higher gusts.
On this approach the center of Beryl or its remnants is expected to pass about 120 miles south of St. Maarten early Monday. A tropical storm watch is effect for St. Maarten. Residents and visitors are urged to remain vigilant and keep informed on the progress of this system. MDS will continue to monitor tropical storm Beryl and keep the public updated.
