WILLEMSTAD – 45 million guilders were wrongly paid to civil servants last year.
Samples from the government show that between 5 and 10 percent of civil servants are wrongfully paid out every year in 2018, this led to 45 million guilders.
According to Armin Konket, the Minister of Management, Planning and Services, this is due to inadequate control of the personnel and salary administration.
In 2016, the General Court of Audit already announced that irregularities had been found. They stated that of all the cases investigated, only 25 percent complied with the rules and procedures. Following this judgment, an investigation was initiated by SOAB that is still ongoing.
